Chicago Weather: Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect south of city

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for areas south of Chicago until midnight.

The counties included in the watch area are: Grundy, Kankakee, La Salle and Livingston in Illinois; Jasper and Newton in Indiana.

The primary threats with any storms that develop include large hail, damaging winds and possibly tornadoes, the National Weather Service said.
