Man tried to abduct girl in Glendale Heights

GLENDALE HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- Police are searching for a man who tried to abduct an 8-year-old girl in west suburban Glendale Heights Sunday afternoon.

The girl said she was playing in front of her house at about 12:20 p.m. in the 200-block of South Water's Edge when a man grabbed her and tried to drag her away, officials said.

She broke free and screamed. The man then ran away.

The man is described as an African American with a bald head, possibly with a tuft of hair on the back, and wearing all black.
