Child struck in Merrionette Park

MERRIONETTE PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A young girl was struck by a vehicle in south suburban Merrionette Park, police said.

Officers responded to the scene near West 115th Street and South Kedzie Avenue on Wednesday morning.

Police said the victim was transported in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center by the Chicago Fire Department.

Police said the driver remained on the scene.
