Circle Interchange construction begins Sunday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- IDOT crews will start a new phase of the Circle Interchange reconstruction project Sunday night.

Crews will reconfigure the eastbound lanes of I-290 from Morgan to Halsted to allow two lanes of dedicated traffic to Congress. One will head to outbound I-90/94, and another will go to the outbound Dan Ryan.

The ramp from the inbound I-290 to the outbound Dan Ryan has now been reduced from two lanes to one lane.

There will also be nightly closures in the area with posted detours in place.
