CHICAGO (WLS) -- A black-and-white colobus monkey born on September 15, 2015, is on exhibit at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

The baby lives at the Helen Brach Primate House with his mom, Kutaka, 11; and dad, Keanjaha, 21; and two other adult colobus monkeys. Zoo officials have not determined the baby's gender.

The baby is the first successful offspring for Kutaka and Keanjaha, who are part of the breeding program with the black-and-white Colobus species survival plan.

"Our last successful colobus birth was the mother, Kutaka, back in 2004 so we are thrilled to see the family tree continue to grow," said Curator of Primates Maureen Leahy. "As first time mother, Kutaka is doing well caring for her young and is keeping the infant tucked close to her chest."

At birth, colobus monkeys have white hair and pink skin. As they get older, their face darkens and they become black and white around 3 months of age.

The baby can be seen from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
