'Steppers' cook-out salutes dance, looks toward school year

CALUMET CITY, Ill. (WLS) -- Families gathered in suburban Calumet City for the "World's Largest Steppers Family Day Cook-Out and Dance Party" Sunday.

The event at the Green Lake Forest Preserve was also a salute to "steppin'," a dance that originated in Chicago.

Kids also got free haircuts before heading back to class.
