Crisp Fresh Market opens in Ford Heights

FORD HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- An oasis is opening up in one of Cook County's food deserts in Ford Heights.

A grand opening was held Wednesday morning for the Crisp Fresh Market food store at 11th and Berkeley.

The store is in an area far away from other grocery stores or supermarkets, giving customers better access to fresh foods and vegetables.

Crisp Fresh Market was developed through work between the Cook County Housing Authority and Catholic Charities.
