Diana Nyad is a world-class open water swimmer who successfully swam around Manhattan in record time and swam from Cuba to Florida at age 60.

CHICAGO -- Diana Nyad is a world class open water swimmer who successfully swam around Manhattan in record time and swam from Cuba to Florida at age 60.

Her first attempt was in 1978. After she was not able to complete the journey, she became a sports journalist. She accomplished her dream after a 30-year hiatus from swimming.

Diana's new book, "Find A Way," chronicles her journey to her final and successful attempt to swim from Cuba to Florida.

Diana Nyad is a world-class open water swimmer who successfully swam around Manhattan in record time and swam from Cuba to Florida at age 60.

She's also in town for the Chicago Tribune's TribNation event series, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Music Box Theater.

Diana will speak with Amina Elahi, a reporter for the Tribune, as part of the newspaper's Blue Sky Innovation "Game Challengers" Series. An audience question and answer session and book signing will follow.
