CHICAGO (WLS) -- Twenty-five years ago Earvin Magic Johnson was diagnosed with HIV. In her new memoir, Cookie Johnson, wife of the NBA legend shares details of her marriage, motherhood, faith and how the diagnosis changed the course of their lives forever.

Johnson shares her emotional journey that started on that day from life as a pregnant and joyous newlywed to one filled with fear that her husband would die and that she and her baby would be infected with the virus.

"Believing in Magic" is the story of her marriage to Earvin, losing their way, and eventually finding a path they never imagined.

Cookie Johnson joined ABC 7 at the State Street Studios.
