WASHINGTON (WLS) -- A new law will increase the availability of life-saving medications for children with food allergies.

At the White House Wednesday, President Obama signed legislation encouraging schools to stock epinephrine, which is delivered by EpiPens.

One in 13 children has a food allergy, or about two in every classroom. Nearly 20 percent of all food allergy reactions in the U.S. occur in schools.
