CHICAGO (WLS) -- Ever wonder what it's like to be scientist? The Field Museum wants to help people find out.
The museum is looking for volunteers to go behind-the-scenes next week as part of WeDigBio, an international effort focused on digitization.
They would help scientists transcribe labels on some of the 30 million specimens at The Field Museum that are used for local and international research, allowing the information to be more widely used.
Some specimens are more than 100 years old.
The event runs from Oct. 20-23. Volunteers get free admission and behind-the-scenes tours.
