FLORIDA (WLS) -- It could still be days for the green algae that's closing some Florida beaches to go away.
The Florida Department of Health says the algae can be poisonous to animals and warns swimmers to beware. Coming into contact with the green slime can cause rashes and blisters, as well as stomach and liver problems.
The Army Corps of Engineers has slowed down the release of water from the lake causing the issue, but say the slowdown will not fully solve the problem.
