CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago's Francis Cardinal George has canceled a trip to Rome because it would interfere with an experimental treatment he's undergoing for his cancer.
On Friday, the archdiocese said the cardinal is taking part in a clinical trial at the University of Chicago.
A spokesperson for the archdiocese said Tuesday night the treatment will be done every three weeks for nearly a year.
Eyewitness News is told the trip is not being canceled because of the cardinal's physical ability to travel.
