CHICAGO (WLS) -- Work is underway to repair the Harrison Street Bridge in Chicago.
The Chicago Department of Transportation says the bridge will be closed for bridge balancing as well as electrical and mechanical repairs.
For the next two weeks, the bridge will be closed to all vehicle, bicycle and foot traffic on a daily basis from 9:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m.
The bridge will be open to all traffic during the Memorial Day weekend and is scheduled to be completed by Sunday, June 3rd.
Traffic will be rerouted in the eastbound direction to Clinton, Roosevelt, Clark and then back to Harrison. Westbound traffic will be detoured via Franklin, Van Buren, Clinton, and back to Harrison.
