A Vitamin D deficiency could lead to higher rates of prostate cancer among men, according to a new study.

Researchers from UIC and Northwestern studied men who had high risk factors of developing the disease.

They found men with a Vitamin D deficiency had more than two times the risk of developing prostate cancer than those who weren't deficient.

Researchers suggest men have their Vitamin D levels checked at least once a year.
