National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrated at Thompson Center

CHICAGO (WLS) -- There was plenty of entertainment at a Thompson Center in tribute to National Hispanic Heritage month Thursday.

In addition to dancing and other fun, there was a serious purpose.

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White hosted the event that recognized the historic contributions of civic and community leaders.

ABC 7's Michelle Gallardo helped emcee the event.
