Woodridge man killed, 8 others injured in I-57 crash

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WLS) -- A Woodridge man was killed in a rollover crash that left eight others injured on I-57 south of Champaign.

Police say a van went off the expressway and flipped several times, landing upside down in a pond Wednesday night near milepost 226.5.

Murtaza Rajkotwala died in the crash. Police say his wife was driving and that she's among eight people who suffered injuries.

Police aren't sure why she lost control of the van and are continuing to investigate.
