CHICAGO (WLS) -- Jackie Robinson West could be leaving Little League International.
JRW said in a statement Wednesday it is "exploring the possibility" of joining the Cal Ripken-Babe Ruth League, a league the team said is comparable to Little League.
Jackie Robinson West was stripped of its U.S. Championship in February.
"JRW parents and coaches feel strongly that Little League International inappropriately treated JRW children and parent volunteers, especially when Little League intentionally decided to announce the proposed change regarding the championship title to their corporate partner, ESPN, before speaking with JRW parents, coaches and children," the statement said.
The team said the action factored into its decision to look into other options.
The Illinois House passed a resolution on Tuesday, calling on Little League to restore the title and investigate other teams as thoroughly as the league investigated JRW.
Jackie Robinson West is made up of 300-400 players and 90-100 parent volunteers.
