CHICAGO (WLS) -- Jesuit colleges across the United States and in Chicago celebrate the life of James Foley, the journalist and Northwestern University graduate killed by ISIS.

The mass at Loyola University recognized Foley's contributions to justice and freedom of the press. Saturday would have been his 41st birthday.

He was the first westerner killed by ISIS in retribution for recent U.S. airstrikes in Iraq.
