CHICAGO (WLS) -- A recently retired Chicago priest is accused of beating a woman following a night of drinking in the Little Village neighborhood.
Police say Jose Landaverde and the 34-year-old victim began arguing at the former priest's home. She says that's when the 47-year-old put his hands around her throat, pushed her to the ground and then kicked her several times.
Landaverde is charged with misdemeanor battery and will appear in court next month.
