CHICAGO (WLS) -- There were long lines outside the Dick's Sporting Goods store in the South Loop Saturday as fans were trying to get their hands on custom t-shirts to support the Jackie Robinson West All-Stars.

Sales of the 500 shirts are helping pay for the team's trip to the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania.

"This has brought so many people together and we're so proud," said Gina Calinda. It's beyond wearing a shirt, it's about what we're carrying in our hearts as well."

"I just want to show support for the team and I believe in the team. I also just want to make sure that I have a shirt when I attend the viewing tomorrow," said Lorene Anthony.

The team of 12- and 13-year-olds from Chicago won its opening round game against Lynnwood (Wash.) on Thursday in impressive fashion, 12-2 in five innings.

The team is just two wins away from playing in the championship and the next game is Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Chicago time, on ABC7.

Chicago cheers on Jackie Robinson West at viewing party

The City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District are hosting a second watch party at Jackie Robinson Park at 10540 South Morgan Park Street, on the Far South Side. The game will be shown on a jumbotron in the park so spectators can watch. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, but park rules do apply and alcohol is not permitted.

Jackie Robinson West will be playing Mountain Ridge from Las Vegas.
