Daycare worker arrested by ICE

Several witnesses said ICE arrested a daycare worker at Rayito de Sol on the North Side.

Witnesses said the teacher was chased inside the daycare center, not showing a warrant and not looking at her papers and despite the woman telling them she had documentation before she was taken away.

Parents described the scene with the children, teachers and parents crying. They said they are concerned about what happened and how to talk to their children what happened.

Witnesses testify to alleged unsanitary, squalid conditions inside Broadview ICE facility

On Tuesday, the I-Team was in court, where we heard shocking testimony about unsanitary and squalid conditions alleged inside the Broadview Immigration and Customs Enforcement processing facility.

Lawyers asked a federal judge for an emergency restraining order to improve conditions for detainees.

The question on Tuesday was, what happens inside the walls of the Broadway immigration detention center where attorneys, politicians and protesters have been turned away? The stories from court are shocking and jarring.

The I-Team heard testimony from detainees estimating 150 to 170 people packed into cells at Broadview. The single-occupancy cells hold as many as seven people. People have allegedly been on top of each other and staying an arm's length away from a toilet in the shared cell.

Two men who were arrested by ICE and are now suing the federal government over these reportedly "abusive and cruel" conditions inside the facility took the stand as witnesses on Tuesday morning. They are both immigrants from Mexico who have lived in the U.S. for over 30 years.

One witness broke down in tears on the stand while describing the unsanitary conditions inside. The alleged deplorable conditions and testimony were so disturbing that the judge compared conditions at Broadview to those of a concentration camp. Click here for more.

Federal immigration agents detain man at Prospect Heights apartment complex

Federal agents gathered outside of a Prospect Heights apartment complex just before 10 a.m. Monday.

As the agents dressed in uniform walked on the property, numerous residents blew whistles and recorded video on their phones.

It is unclear who they were possibly looking for, but a few minutes after 10 a.m., they took a man into custody. Friends said he does not live there but was stopping by to give a coworker a ride to work.

One woman, who wants only her first name, Adriana, used, was recording from her balcony.

"They don't care if you're a citizen or not. They just grab whoever they want to grab," Adriana said.

The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately return ABC7's requests for information. Click here for more.
