The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots flew into the Bay Area ahead of the Super Bowl.
There were two different types of touchdowns at San Jose Airport Sunday, as the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots flew into the Bay Area ahead of the Super Bowl.
After each team left the airport, they were greeted by cheering fans outside their respective hotels.
"This just makes it all worth it," said Patriots fan Jeremy Benton, who drove to the South Bay all the way from Sacramento.
He said he didn't want to miss the chance to see the team with his family.
"They love it. So far this is the most exciting thing yet, as far as their young lives," Benton said.
Fellow Patriots fan Talwinder Singh said he's been rooting for the team ever since moving to the U.S. as a child. He's excited to see the Patriots play so close to home.
"This is a dream come true. Your team is here now for the next week. We're going to fully enjoy obviously," Singh said.
Just a few minutes away, Seahawks fans also waited to see their team arrive.
"I'm really excited to see the players. Hopefully yell out some names and see if I can get some waves," said Austin Exelby.
Exelby grew up in the North Bay but has been a lifelong Seattle fan. He's looking forward to watching the game with his friends and family.
"When I heard the Super Bowl was going to be at Levi's, I was excited. But when I found out the Seahawks were going, I was ecstatic," said Exelby.
In the crowd of Seahawks fans outside the hotel, we also met fan Alberto Ramirez.
A San Jose native, he said he's considering buying tickets to the game.
"I think so, because we're saving hotels, flights, having to travel somewhere else to go watch the game," Ramirez said.
The excitement is only set to build from here.
Ahead of next Sunday's big game, there will be a multitude of events happening all throughout the week.
