ABC News is projecting that two-term incumbent Connecticut senator Chris Murphy will (perhaps expectedly)> go back to the chamber for a third term.
ABC News is projecting that Harris is expected to win Washington D.C., Maryland, and Massachusetts. That will add 24 electoral college votes to her column, but these results shouldn't be a surprise - both states, and Washington D.C., are overwhelming Democratic.
ABC News projects that Trump has won the presidential race in Alabama, Florida, Missouri, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
These were all states won by the former president four years ago, and states in which he maintained large polling leads through most of the contest. Together, these 5 states gain him 67 electoral votes.
As of 7:45 p.m. ET, statewide, with 14% of the expected vote reporting statewide, Trump leads in Georgia with 62% of the vote, followed by Harris with 38%.
However, there is still many votes left to tally from more Democratic areas of the state, including the Atlanta metro area.
In Douglas County, which is considered part of metro Atlanta, with 74% of the expected vote reporting, Harris leads by more than double Trump's margin for now with 65.9% of the vote, followed by Trump with 33.6%.
