CHICAGO (WLS) -- McDonald's workers are demanding that the company needs to do more to keep them safe.

They protested Tuesday outside a West Side restaurant. The workers say they suffer frequent burns on the job, and they blame low staffing and the pressure to work quickly. The protestors add that many locations don't have basic first aid.

A McDonald's spokesperson issued a statement saying the company will review the allegations. It goes on to say the complaints are part of a larger strategy, targeting the company's brand.
