Disgraced Fox Lake cop's widow files for his pension

FOX LAKE, Ill. (WLS) -- The widow of the Fox Lake police officer who staged his own suicide wants his pension.

Melodie Gliniewicz has filed for survivors benefits, but Fox Lake Pension Board officials have not determined how much, if any, money she'd be entitled to.

Gliniewicz is facing several charges for allegedly helping her husband steal money from a youth program.

Investigators said Lt. Joe Gliniewicz took his own life last September as an investigation was beginning into the finances of the youth program.
