WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WLS) -- Governor Pat Quinn called for raising the minimum wage in Illinois to at least $10 an hour while at an event Sunday night in north suburban Waukegan.
Quinn joined Congressman Luis Gutierrez, nominee for Lt. Governor Paul Vallas, labor leaders and low wage workers.
The governor says the Illinois minimum wage at $8.25 an hour is less than half of the average United States hourly wage.
