CHICAGO -- Nezelle Bradshaw, the grandmother of "Windy City Live!" co-host Val Warner, passed away early Friday morning. She was 97.

On Friday's episode of "Windy City LIVE," co-cost Ryan Chiaverini said Bradshaw - who was known as "Mother Dear" - was an "incredible woman who live an incredible life - she loved talking about dancing, her life as an educator - but most of all, she loved talking about men!"

Co-host Ji Suk Yi said this was because she was "ahead of her time," and that she balanced her career with her family.

"She was such a role model for all women, especially in the African American community," Ji said.
