WILLOW SPRINGS, Ill. (WLS) -- The first day of classes will begin as scheduled Monday at a Chicago charter school following the death of one of its teachers.
Police say 26-year-old Samantha Zapata was shot and killed by her husband at their home in west suburban Willow Springs this weekend.
Thirty-five-year-old Luiz Zapata reportedly turned the gun on himself.
Samantha was a teacher at Rowe-Clark Math and Science Academy in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood.
School officials say social workers will be on campus Monday morning.
