CHICAGO (WLS) -- Illinois museums are getting millions of dollars to pay for facility improvements and new exhibits.
On Saturday, Governor Pat Quinn announced that 47 museums operated by local governments or cities will get $20 million in capital funds.
The John G. Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum of Natural History and the Adler Planetarium are among the attractions getting money.
Quinn says the investment will help museums attract more visitors, boost tourism and create jobs.
