Deportation halted so man can donate kidney to sister

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A deportation has been halted for a man so he can donate his kidney to his sister.

Argenis Longoria pleaded guilty to burglary and was about to be sent back to Mexico, but a judge is allowing him to stay temporarily so he can undergo the surgery to give his kidney to his sister.

He will be released from immigration custody on Thursday.
