CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police helped to deliver gifts Saturday to the children of officers who were killed or severely injured in the line of duty.
Organizers say gifts are not the most important part of "Operation Santa."
"This is a tough time of year for them," said Phil Cline, Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. "So by us coming there and showing them they're still part of the police family it brings a lot of joy to these families and all of us get more out of the visits today than the families and the kids that we visit."
Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves made personal visits to the homes of all the children.
