Glen Ellyn fire injures 2

Two people were injured in a fire at a two-story townhouse on Farnsworth Court in west suburban Glen Ellyn, officials said.

Glen Ellyn officials said a 60-year-old man was attempting to fix a clothes dryer when there was small explosion. He suffered burns to his extremities and was taken to Loyola Hospital.

Officials did not release the extent of his condition but said he was alert and conscious at transfer.

A woman in her 20s, believed to be the man's daughter, was taken to Central DuPage Hospital with minor injuries.

The small fire was contained to the laundry room, officials said.
