Homewood police investigate infant's death

HOMEWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- Homewood police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old girl at an apartment on Hart Drive.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the death of Jacinta Hughes, and said the cause of death was still undetermined. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

A neighbor told the Southtown Star that officers were at a 12-unit apartment building on the 18000-block of Hart Drive Thursday between about 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Police have not provided details about the death or their investigation.
