Man charged in connection with crash that killed off-duty cop

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Cook County juvenile detention center employee has been charged with reckless homicide in connection with a crash that killed an off-duty Chicago cop over the summer.

Dennis Anderson, 51, was initially cited for the July 20 crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

Authorities said an investigation found Anderson tried to make an illegal exit at 71st Street when he swerved into the path of off-duty officer Tito Rodriguez, who was riding a motorcycle.
