Musician David Bowie Has Died

Musician David Bowie has died at the age of 69, his representative confirmed to ABC News.

According to a statement on his official Facebook page, the singer had been battling cancer for more than a year.

"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer," read the statement which is dated January 10. "While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief."
