CHICAGO (WLS) -- Big changes are on the way to make it easier for riders with disabilities to get around in Chicago.
Pace said Wednesday that trips within the city will soon be distributed among all Chicago ADA carriers through a central dispatch system.
Pace said passengers should continue to call their current carrier to book trips, but a different carrier than the one you called may arrive to pick you up. All carriers are marked with the Pace logo.
And there's another big change coming. Pace riders will soon be able to book trips up to two days ahead of time. Currently, rides can only be scheduled 24 hours in advance.
Additionally, riders will soon be able to check on the status of their scheduled ride by calling 1-800-606-1282 and pressing option 1.
Pace said the changes will go in to effect on July 15. Suburban riders will not be impacted.
