CHICAGO (WLS) -- A pregnant woman was seriously injured after a speeding car crashed into her vehicle and pushed it into a tree on Chicago's North Side.



She was parked in her Mazda Protege in the 6000-block of West Fullerton Avenue in the city's Belmont Central neighborhood around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday.



Police said a westbound car traveling at a high rate of speed crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck her vehicle. The Mazda jumped the curb and smashed into a tree.



The 21-year-old woman was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where she is listed in serious condition.



The 23-year-old man driving the other car was also taken to Loyola, where his condition stabilized.



No charges have been filed.
