ABC7 Exclusive (WLS) -- In at least two cases, robbers have targeted victims on or near the CTA Green Line. A woman who says she was one of those victims spoke exclusively to ABC7.

That woman says she was inside the CTA Green Line station at 43rd Street - in an area of surveillance cameras right next to an attendant - when she was attacked Friday night.

Morgan Williams said she first noticed the three suspects downtown when they got on her Green Line train.

"They had got on the train together but split up and sat in three different sections," Williams said.

The teens got off the train with Williams at 43rd, so instead of waiting for a bus outside, she remained in the station on the other side of the turnstiles near an attendant.

"One tried to take my phone out of my hand. He pushed me down, jumped on me, threw me to the ground, and started punching me in the side of my head repeatedly over and over again. I screamed for help," Williams said.

The attackers ran as a train arrived and the attendant called police.

Two weeks earlier, a similar attack occurred one block away. Police said four offenders in a red two-door Pontiac Grand Prix robbed a victim while armed with black handguns.

The two incidents come as CTA announces a 25-percent decrease in crime on trains and buses. The mayor credited an investment in surveillance cameras. But to Williams' attackers, the cameras were no deterrent.

"I thought I was safe. I thought I was doing all the right things and protecting myself and staying inside the station, and standing next to the attedant's booth," Williams said.

Williams has some bumps on her head but was not seriously injured. She managed to hold onto her cell phone during the attack.
