Yorkville Wrigley plant to start making Skittles

YORKVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- A Wrigley plant in suburban Yorkville will be expanded to make the popular candy Skittles.

The expansion comes as the state of Illinois is providing the company with tax breaks and grants. Seventy-five new jobs will be added at the plant.

Sales of the candy have been growing over the last five years. Skittles recently became an official sponsor of the NFL.
