LONDON -- Wimbledon, the world's premier tennis tournament is here, but the big story is not the players, it's what they are wearing.
A Nike tennis dress worn by many of the players is causing a stir for being too "revealing." It's called the "NikeCourt Premier Slam Dress." The empire-waisted, soft, flowing dress spins up when the ladies are playing.
The dress was approved by Wimbledon, which requires that all players must wear entirely white outfits.
The story has made news with the London newspapers, many of them reporting that emergency modifications have been made to the dress.
Nike released this statement saying, "The product has not been recalled and we often customize products and make alterations for athletes as they compete. We work closely with our athletes to provide them with product that helps them perform and feel their best on the court."
Serena Williams is wearing her own version of the dress, which is much more structured.
The tournament got underway on Monday.
