OTTAWA, Ill. (WLS) -- The cause of a deadly six-vehicle pileup crash on I-80 near Ottawa has been determined, Illinois State Police said.
Police say a large truck carrying gravel didn't slow down in a construction zone. That truck slammed into a passenger car, which set off a chain reaction crash.
Two people in the passenger car were killed, as was the driver of a truck carrying tires. Several of the vehicles caught fire and I-80 was closed at mile marker 93 for about nine hours.
