1 injured, 2 in custody after police chase ends in crash on Dan Ryan Expressway: ISP

CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person is injured and two suspects are in custody after an Illinois State Police chase ended in a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway on Saturday morning, officials said.

ISP said around 7:30 a.m., troopers spotted a vehicle wanted in connection with a Cicero carjacking that had happened around 5:30 a.m. When troopers tried to stop the vehicle on southbound Interstate 94 at 75th Street, the driver fled.

Troopers chased the driver, who crashed into another vehicle at 130th Street on Chicago's South Side, ISP said.

Two people who were inside the wanted vehicle fled the scene on foot, but police later took them into custody, ISP said.

ISP said someone in the other vehicle was injured and taken to a local hospital.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
