"We regret to inform you that Tom has passed away this morning at 5:50 a.m.," his family posted on social media.

"He wanted you all to know how much joy you brought him through the years. He said to tell you that he loved you all. May he rest in peace," the post said.

Dreesen grew up in Harvey, as was best known for being Frank Sinatra's opening act for 13 years.

He began his career by forming the nation's first biracial comedy duo, "Tim and Tom," alongside actor Tim Reid.

He was 86.

"He will be deeply missed, and we extend our condolences to his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him," the Museum of Broadcast Communications said on social media.
