Body found in Fox River in South Elgin identified as man missing since November, officials say

SOUTH ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- A body found in a west suburban river this week has been identified as a man who was missing for months, officials said.

Ulises "Miguel" Segura Dorantes, 53, was reported missing Nov. 29, 2025, the Kane County Coroner's Office said.

The South Elgin Fire Department said the body was found Tuesday in the Fox River near the 100-block of North Center Street.

The coroner's officer conducted an autopsy Wednesday and determined him to be Segura Dorantes. He died by drowning.

Segura Dorantes was reported missing to the Elgin Police Department.

Police are investigating, the fire department told ABC7.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
