18-year-old motorcyclist killed in Buffalo Grove crash involving pickup truck: police

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- A motorcyclist died in a north suburban crash involving a pickup truck on Friday evening, police said.

Buffalo Grove police said officers responded to the crash at Buffalo Grove Road and University Drive around 5:40 p.m.

Responding officers rendered aid to the motorcyclist, 18-year-old Wheeling man Jeremi Klodzinski.

Klodzinski was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The truck's driver was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation.

Buffalo Grove Road was shut down between Dundee Road and East Darryl Drive for about four hours.

What caused the crash was not immediately clear, police said. No citations or charges have been issued.

The Buffalo Grove Police Department's traffic unit and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating.
