
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Thieves broke into a popular athletic wear store on Chicago's Far South Side Tuesday morning, Chicago police said.
The incident occurred at about 6:11 a.m. in the 1500-block of East 95th Street.
Police said a group of thieves crashed a Jeep into a Snipes store in a shopping plaza.
The group got away with cash registers and merchandise from the store before fleeing in a second vehicle, police said.
No one is in custody and Area Two detectives are investigating.
There have been a series of smash and grabs at local Footlocker stores in the last few weeks.
