
CHICAGO (WLS) -- The C.H.A.M.P. Community Project will host its first Celebrity Pro Am Golf Outing on May 28 at Old Orchard Country Club in Mt. Prospect, Ill. The proceeds from the event support the mental and emotional education programs, namely the C.H.A.M.P. Within program for at-risk teens living in the single parent household.
Festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Participants will have a chance to mix and mingle with former pro-athletes and local celebrities. Special items will also be auctioned off with proceeds going to the C.H.A.M.P. Community Project. Guests will enjoy 18 holes of golf, with cart and green fees included. Lunch, cocktails, photo opps with the celebrities, raffles, and a silent auction will also be offered.
Celebrity participants include Eddie Arroyo (chief steward at Arlington Racecourse), Bob Avellini (Bears), Ronnie Bull (Bears), Bill Campbell (MLB), Robin Earl (Bears), Ike Hill (Bears), Gene Hiser (White Sox) and many more athletes, as well as the announcer from the Chicago Bulls organization.
About Traci S. Campbell
Traci S. Campbell is a notable author, personal coach, radio host and philanthropist. The Baltimore, Md. native who now resides in Chicago grew up in a single parent household. As a teen she worked several jobs, including work as a print model and hostess at a prestigious hotel in order to help support the bills. However, she still faced insecurities and other challenges as a young person growing up in a challenged environment. It wasn't until she encountered mentors and role models in her professional IT career that she overcame these issues. Recalling this period in her adolescent life and seeing the same issues prevalent even more in today's youth, Traci was motivated to found the organization, the C.H.A.M.P. Community Project.
