Infant, young boy, woman found dead in Lake Michigan on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are conducting death investigations after three bodies, including two children, were pulled from Lake Michigan Saturday on the city's South Side.

The deaths appear to be connected and possibly stemmed from a domestic dispute, police said.

The first body, an infant, was found around 11:23 a.m. in the 5700 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive near 57th Street Beach, Chicago police said.

The infant, a baby girl whose exact age was not yet known, was recovered from water at the location, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Later in the day, the bodies of a young boy and a woman were also pulled from Lake Michigan at a nearby South Side beach, police said.

The water recoveries happened around 2:23 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Hayes Drive near 63rd Street Beach, Chicago police said.

A 6-year-old boy was recovered from the water and was pronounced dead at the scene, CPD said. A 31-year-old woman was also recovered from the water at the same location. She was also pronounced dead.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has yet to identify the three people.

Police are not currently searching for any possible suspects in connection to the deaths, CPD said.

No further information was available as the death investigations are underway, pending autopsy results.
