Man found dead near suburban airport possibly killed in crash: police

WHEELING, Ill. (WLS) -- Officials have identified the man found dead near the Chicago Executive Airport viewing area on Sunday.

Prospect Heights police said its officers responded to the area of 79 East Palatine Frontage Road in Wheeling just after 9 a.m.

There, officers found the body of man on the ground along the fence.

He was identified as John Folan, 68 of Prospect Heights, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Police said Folan "may have been hit by a vehicle."

Police said there were no witnesses or vehicles that appeared to be connected to the possible crash.

No one is in custody.
